It is 2016 for crying out loud, why do they keep doing this crap. Was it that important to the plot?
shareMaybe because it's commonly understood from European fairy tales that come from the early ages when wolves were seen as something dangerous one might encounter in the deep, dark woods? It would be weird to have bunnies as the dangerous creatures, although Monty Python did try that.

shareWolves very rarely attack humans. A bear with cubs would have been more realistic. Then again its a fairy tale... in the real world. Sort of. Well I didn't like the wolf thing either.

shareSo what if it's 2016? Yeah, sure wolf attacks on people are rare, but it does happen sometimes. The wolves from Europe and Asia have attacked more people than the North American wolves even there wolf attacks are rare.
