This looks so painful. Is there an audience for this?

I think Kristen Wiig is going down the same path as Will Farrell. A downward spiral into unfunny madness. Even as an indie circuit movie this looks like a total flush.

Well this is going to be more of a drama than a comedy, like Ferrell's Everything Must Go. Kristen has been getting excellent reviews recently, especially for another drama, The Skeleton Twins, for which she genuingly had an outside shot of an Oscar nomination. Just because she isn't doing out and out comedies all the time, doesn't mean she's doing anything wrong.

I'm talking Jackson, Mississippi!

I actually enjoy Kristen more in dramatic roles, she can flow so easily from being really funny to being really heartbreaking. She's so good

Another great comic actor who has done well in drama is Bill Murray. He can exude drama and comedy equally well. From what she showed in Bridesmaids, I think she has the same screen presence to succeed in drama. She has this "life is beating me down" persona that works for her and is ideal for this role. Will Farrell seems to have less drama in his screen personality and so he has to try harder for drama and it doesn't work.

Only speaking as a dopey filmgoer. I couldn't act in a zillion years so all of these people have my respect for their craft.

As far as an audience goes, I will be there.

I am the audience for this, and probably anything else Kristin is in. I believe she is a very good actress, with a wide range of talent, and I have enjoyed the films she has been in so far.

As soon as you retire, klondike. You're approaching 50 years with Mickey D's, right?

I think you're really on the wrong track.
I wasn't that big a fan of her Saturday Night routines but have found myself fascinated by her every role ever since. She very talented and headed for even more acclaim. It feels destined.
I prefer her drama, by the way..or dramady.

Will Farrell has never been funny to me. The only thing I found him bearable in was his drama (Everything Must Go)..It's impossible for me to gauge him never having been a fan of his comedy but he does seem to be getting goofier and goofier. I don't care for his broad "slapstick" kind of comedy.

Yes, there is an audience for this, and I enjoyed it very much. I'm in for anything Kristen Wiig does, because she has a unique talent for unusual characters, and she always commits fully to what ever she does. You don't have to like everything, so if this isn't for you, I'm sure you can find something else to see.
