The Ending Concerning Optimus (Big Spoiler)

Die he have to die again? They wrote the reason he had to self-sacrifice but REALLY?

This isn't a happy ending to the series.

I heard Peter Cullen will return for the next TF upcoming cartoon, which is probably Transformers Go!

In that series elements from Beast Hunters are shown, Predaking and Optimus are in it in the background.

If Go does play off of BH, I hope Optimus does explain on how he returned from the Well of AllSparks.

Primus probably granted him his life back because he knew Optimus deserved it.

Orcas are the best.

Well, Hasbro has said that they are never gonna have another show without Optimus Prime again, so if the next series is in fact a continuation of TF: Prime, he will very likely return.

And since we saw his Spark flying out at the end, there's nothing really prohibiting his return in a new body or something.

Oddly enough, I didn't mind Optimus' death at the end of the movie. Unlike in the 1986 movie, where he died violently and unnecessarily, this death was the beginning of new life on a planet that had been dead for far too long. Now Optimus is part of the creation of life. In my opinion, that makes it OK.

What about Airachnid and all her zombies on Cybertron's moon? How did they not adress that?

reply

They don't address a lot of things. The whole third season, the movie, and the cast of characters were all too short, and they neglected to do too many things that they should have.

They should have introduced new characters, or give more information about what happened to the rest of their race. All of the surviving Decepticons, are completely forgotten, with way too little, or nothing at all, explaining what happens to them next. Megatron left, Starscream will likely get beat up by the Predacons, Shockwave is completely forgotten, Soundwave is still trapped in the shadow zone, and the movie ended before Knockout had a chance to do something more heroic and become more of a friend to the good guys.

And that's just a start of all the problems with this movie and the whole series finale.

If and when Optimus is needed again, I expect Primus will somehow restore him to life. He is also a god and all, so I assume he could do whatever he wishes.

Posts like yours, which is probably how MOST PEOPLE took it, prove why the human race is so flawed.

Such closed-minded stupidity.

Like the other guy said, there's a difference between JUST PLAIN DYING and going out in a self-sacrificial way.

While I was sad to see him die, Optimus went out on his own terms, and he went out as a savior, for the greater good, which is clearly something he would do, and befitting of the character.

If just the fact that he died makes the ending "suck" for you, then the problem is yours.

For storytelling purposes, this ending was obviously appropriate, even if it was tough to handle.

I totally agree with you Orca-Lover.

To have him die, come back (thanks to Smokescreen once again, the unsung hero of the show) super awesome to have him die again....agreed REALLY!? Enough with killing Prime, it was awful in 86', you would like writers would have learned their lesson, NO ONE wants Prime dead.

Agree again, it's not a happy ending to the series. What if Megatron decides to take over again, who could stop him.

And seriously, how in the H##L did Shockwave escape Unicron's army.
