What are the differences that you noticed between the tv series + books

The main one that I noticed is Watch now has parents & Adam's mom is missing, & it went from 5 characters to 3.

Off the top of my head from the 4 episodes I've seen...

Adams deceased mother having something to do with an overall plot

No Bryce

George Sanders being Something Katzman

The Thing in the Closet was an incredible book for a kids book, with there being a whole back story in the world the kids ended up in. All this just got left out, pretty understandable I guess from a budget and target audience POV. Also, it was
Cindy who was the one dragged in originally.

Ann Templeton is a kid too, in the books she was an adult

I remember thinking the books were really clever and well put together and liking how the kids would reach conclusions etc whereas in the show they just seem to make leaps of logic at the right time. Again understandable given the constraints they're working with. The kid playing Sally is good though, pretty much exactly how the character was in the books. I see they've made the Phone Fear episode, be interesting cause that was ridiculous for a kids book. Three of the characters under house arrest and held at gun point by lunatics

I was ready to embrace the changes (no Cindy nor Bryce? Well, they'd have more time to develop Watch and Sally), even the infuriating de-aging of Ann Templeton - but I can't get over how much they ruined her. She might as well be a totally different character! Hell, they should have gone the extra mill and give Cindy powers. No need to taint Templeton's character with this mess.

To add injury to insult, Sally gets even less "screentime" than in the books, and her crush on Adam is downplayed to the point I keep forgetting about it - the hints of a possible Watch/Sally thing looming on the horizon don't help matters.
