Made me fangirl, and I'm a guy.
Seriously, the discovery that this series was coming out made me have a full-blown spazzing out screeching fangirl fit, and that as a guy who does not have such fits. But I have been a Christopher Pike (Kevin McFadden) fan my entire life, and even today he remains my all-time favorite author. I believe far more of his works deserved full blown movie adaptations and never got them. And to see that one of his best series is finally getting made into a tv-series just made me half lose my mind. Good for him, Pike deserves it. As much recognition as he got (he was pretty much *the* teen author of the 90's, back before teen authors got the kind of recognition they get today), I still felt he never got enough. I would've taken him over Rowling, Meyer, and Collins put together. He deserved the kind of media attention and movie offers that they got.
I can only hope that the producers of this show are planning on at least trying to keep the story based upon the source material, or I'll be extremely disappointed. Spooksville was a fantastic series, and although each book was a little on the short side, they should easily be able to make each one into an episode or two a piece. If they just keep the characters and completely revamp the plot, my nerd rage will reach nuclear levels.
