Versace a dud

Just finished watching the "Versace" story on ACS. What a boring season and story this was. Save for the outstanding performances by Darren Criss and Judith Light, the season was a dud. What took ten weeks to drag out could have been told in 4 weeks.

Glad to hear I didn't miss much.
I didn't get past episode 2

reply

I wish I stopped at 2.

It wasn't even aptly named. They should have called it The Andrew Cunanan story. It felt like they spent very little time on Versace. There just wasn't enough material to justify the length of the season.

reply

Yeah I couldnt get past episode 4, I just couldnt get into it like the first season.

Frankly I liked it much more than The People vs Cuba Gooding Jr.

Although Sarah Paulson and Courtney B. Vance were both STELLAR in their roles (as were others like Travolta), I just could not get past the HORRIBLE casting of Cuba as OJ. It did not work for me. Perhaps also knowing the whole story so well was a part of why that season was a dud to me. Don't get me wrong, it was very well done, but oh so familiar.

Mark Murphy trying to equate celebrity trash culture to relevant American History.

If he wants to make these things of historical significance then he should dig WAY BACK and make a docudrama on well known rapists the Warner Brothers or the Fatty Arbuckle debacle. Heck, why not do a movie on Marilyn Monroe's drug addicted downfall?

reply

I loved it. In fact I'd argue the Versace parts were the most boring.
