A better actor to play O.J.? Cuba was terrible.

Don`t get me wrong, Cuba is a good actor in my book, but he was terribly cast on this show.

You could not buy what people said about OJ because he didn`t look or feel the part. It needed a black actor with a deep voice, gravitas and a charming demeanor to him. Completely different from the ghetto-high-pitched-talk that Cuba displayed throughout the entire season.

People were right about O.J.`s ways. He only hung out with his rich white friends. Hell, even HIS FACE has thin traces of a white guy that are uncommon on black men. So the casting of Cuba really took out from the realism and was an issue in the series, it could`ve been so much better.

I thought Idris Elba (spelling?) would have been a good choice. Certainly a better voice.

So funny. I just wrote that on the first post and thought it when I watched last year. Yup, dude is perfect for this.

I could see Rick Fox in the role. He reminds me of Oj in alot of ways. Hes tall, charming and handsome. Im just not sure if hes an good enough actor to pull it off.

Im still happy for Cuba though. The guy deserves a comeback after two decades of crappy movies.

Nick Cannon

cubba was better in one in the chamber and the hit list where he did stunning job!

I thought maybe Denzel Washington, but he might have been too old now, unless they used make up to make him look younger. He would have been more money to hire though.

I'm glad that Cuba got a good role again but I just saw Cuba the whole time

I did too and I like Cuba

Lara Croft Himiko! The First Sun Queen! This is Yamatai.

I'm watching the show now on Netflix and I agree. I too love Cuba but in this role I see Cuba acting, not OJ Simpson. It's distracting. I can't help but believe there are a dozen black guys in Hollywood who could have done an equal job while looking better and not be so distracting. (I don't have any names to offer, but there must be some guys with the right age and build and decent skill to play OJ.)

Cuba did a great job acting in that show for sure, But as OJ not so much.

Boris Kodjoe hands down! They could rough him up with a little with make up, but that's who immediately came to my mind. Stature, skin tone, cut features and a decent actor.

Michael Jai White comes to mind. Michael is around the same age as OJ was at the time. They are the same size, although Michael is more muscular then OJ was at the time. Same deep voice and presence. Even though they don't look alike, it would still have been a much better choice then casting Cuba, hands down.

Forest Whitaker, maybe.

Or Samuel L. Jackson.

Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career.

You need a decently sized and masculine actor... most of the young ones are too small... a lot of the younger black actors are very scrawny...

You also need someone who can act to pull off the nuances of the character... Cuba Gooding nailed this part of the performance, but he's a bit too small to play OJ... also, the directing waa poor in this regard, they could have shot him in a way to hide his relatively small size
