QUESTION because I'm American -- What those cookies were called.

OK, I'm American.
I'm ignorant of Aussie culture.
Stuff happens.

I didn't understand the term for what the sex-offender neighbour called the cookies he'd baked.

Hell, I don't even remember what he called those things! But, apparently everyone else, to whom he gave the cookies as his welcome gift, remembered them as being part of their childhood.

What were the cookies called? And, why aren't they called that anymore, please?

They're called golliwogs. They are considered racist now.

its true, I remember going into the shops as a kid and buying a packet of Gollywogs. Cant do that these days with all the political correctness.

THANK YOU everyone for your IMMENSE help to this American.

What made that scene especially funny was that the child molester gave them as welcoming gifts to his terribly unsuspecting neighbours -- so funny! I roared with laughter so hard I nearly started crying.

They all seemed so distracted by the cookies that they didn't pay attention to his required comment. He was out of sorts when Dan didn't recognize them. Still same response.

I think they did pay attention. It's just they didn't care. And I couldn't help but notice that he spoke to and gave his gift of cookies to the characters with the unusual kinks - the rape girl, the roll play guy, and the sleep guy. Perhaps with their own unusual quirks they wouldn't be the first to judge a sex offender.

Those cookies are racist and dehumanizing, so of course no decent person is going to keep eating them. It has nothing to do with being politically correct, everything to do with not being a racist a$$hole.
