Derailing a train
So...
A twenty tons locomotive can be derailed by two bicycles.
What are the odds of that?

Did you guys watch the same movie? Did you not notice that the derailment was caused by the little girl inside the control room?

Having worked representing railroads in civil lawsuits I KNEW there had to be more - not even a tractor trailer will derail a fully loaded locomotive and 5 or more cars at full speed - but like you, I've jumped to conclusions about more than a FEW movies before I watched to the end - then ended up feeling like the south end of a donkey ESPECIALLY if I commented prematurely!!! WELCOME to the Southside!!!

Yes, but the official report was that the bikes on the track caused it.
shareI thought that was incredibly stupid as well when it got explained that that is what happened and made me almost give up hope of the progress of the movie
BUUUUUUUUUUT 5 minutes later Sam Neill literally says to Adrien Brody 'Do you really think that 2 bikes could derail a train?'.
And then I regained hope again and in the end where he sees what happened you can clearly see that the girl in the 'trainhouse' accidentally hit the switch of the rails as it was passing and that is what led it to derail, not the bikes.
Somedays you just can't dispose of a bomb.
Your quoted signature at the bottom of your posts renews my hope for mankind. I guess I won't press that button tonight.
