More Kevin Hart

Anyway, I stepped into the movie and stayed for about 25 minutes, and honestly, I couldn't see what was so great about the movie.
What really annoyed me was Chris Rock. And I still cannot accept him as a "leading" movie man.
Kevin Hart - yes! He just seems like a natural.
Rosario's character was OK, but I couldn't see the point of the movie. What was it about?
Normally in 20 - 30 minutes you know the plot of the movie, but this one seemed to be a conversation among people about someone who was resurrecting his career.

I think that was part of Chris Rock's point. People expect him to be funny, when actually this movie was along the lines of a Woody Allen or Spike Lee joint, just showing a day in the life of a celebrity in New York and how the public perceives him vs. how he perceives himself.

For me, it was Chris Rock. Sorry, but he's not an "actor/comedian". He can't separate himself from his real self on screen.
He's a great great standup, and I loved Good Hair, because he was like a roving reporter.
But this movie demands an actor/comedian, and he isn't a screen presence at all. He's a standup comedian, who's grin stays on his face all the doggone time and that grin never leaves, even when he's serious.

I feel the exact opposite way about Rock and Hart; to me, Rock is interesting, Hart is only tolerable in small doses... but that's what's cool about opinions, there's lots of different ones!

Why can't a movie be about that? That sums it up pretty well for me, and I'm fine with that... A 'plot' doesn't always need twists and turns, just the basic idea that you expressed.
