One last desperate, unfunny cash-in

Kevin's gotta eat though I guess

reply

basically.

he's pretty big. I think he's had enough to eat.

I've never seen anyone in Hollywood try to milk his fanbase as much as this guy does. Talk about trying to squeeze blood from a stone. FFS, he won't even sell Dogma to Amazon Prime or Netflix because he must make a $1.50 more with DVD sales.

So what? It's his movie. He doesn't milk his fanbase. He's great at marketing his movies and himself in general, whats so wrong about that? Lets not forget that all of his podcasts are free, and alot of his best content are in those podcasts. I will never understand the Kevin Smith hate but oh well, to each their own.

Kevin Smith couldn't give two *beep* about this movie being made for himself or "milking his fans". The whole point was to give Jason Mews (the movie's producer) a "busy project" to help him stay clean and sober. The ads and commercials they show at the beginning of the movie helps pays for costs associated with touring around the country for screenings.

I don't hate kevin smith, I just don't think he has good self assessment. The guy was going on and on about zack and miri and it was ok. Then he did cop out and do you remember how much he banged on about how great Bruce was, that was until Cop Out opened and he let loose about what he really thought. I will give him red state was good but the way he was banging on about how parks is going to get a oscar nom. He was good don't get me wrong, but not to the level that kevin oversells it, like he oversells everything he does.

Shut your ass up. Jason asked him how to get into producing. Know the story before you let your fingers go to work. Stick them back in your ass.

What nonsense. First of all, it's probably not his decision. Most directors don't own their movies in the way you seem to think they do. Secondly, he's one of the most-featured filmmakers on Netflix. At various times, I've seen 'Clerks', 'Chasing Amy' and 'Mallrats' on there, and 'Red State' appeared not long after it went to VOD. Add to that one or two of his live Q&A specials, as well as a 'Jay & Silent Bob Get Old' show and the 'Smodimations' thing, and now this very movie - all of which he probably does own. He's not exactly one for being stingy with his work. I didn't even mention the podcasts!

I've been a Kevin Smith fan for years, seen almost everything he's made and probably haven't spent more than $100 or so on him - and that was mostly live shows.

Says the non-fan, hater who hasn't seen it. Yeah, we'll listen to you
