Yep! It's great!

If you liked the cartoon interludes on the "Jay and Silent Bob Get Old" DVD's you'll enjoy this - same animator. Storywise, it's based directly on the "Bluntman and Chronic" graphic novel.

I was a fan of the Clerks cartoons and a huge fan of Kevin Smith but sadly did not enjoy this one, the cartoon preview that had to support a future project was great but this was not so much. This is hard for me to write given my devotion to their work but it just was not very good. Looking forward to Tusk though.

I do like Kevin Smith and he's really at his best when he just gets on stage and talks to an audience for about an hour like he does at the SDCC (San Diego ComicCon). I've seen him twice doing this and both times I was crying with laughter. I love it when he tells parents to please take there children out of the theater because there will be a lot of "R" rated conversation going on. Many parents do leave with there kids, but many stay. Eventually some 8yr old will come up to the mic to ask Kevin a question. Kevin just laughs and say, "What the f#$% are you still doing here?" He is a funny guy though and SDCC loves having him there every year.

I saw the preview for this "Super Groovy Cartoon" and it just didn't look that good to me. I also have their Clerks cartoon, which I liked a bit more. Supposedly Kevin is working on a Clerks 3. The original is still the best.

I'd say it was watchable. It wasn't as enjoyable as clerks the animated series, and a few jokes from other movies are repeated. Defintely not the best jay and silent bob project.

Loved the cartoon, have watched the six episodes countless times throughout the years. I honestly struggled to sit through the hour that this movie takes up.

Anyone here mentions Hotel California dies before the first line clears his lips.

reply

yeah, same here. watched the toons a gazillion times and got a whole rack of different smith DVDs (including special editions), but i could not even make it to the end of this one.

Its essentially Smith going back to his roots in indy cinema.

I liked it a lot. But I also love potty humor like Mallrats. His best movie.

If there be a god...than hide from him our most evil enterprise!

Watched about 45 minutes of it and shut it off. My guess is Kevin didn't really write it, it was some fan doing a what he thinks a Kevin Smith movie is. It was like a more vulgar Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back without any of the smart humor.
