North Korea, truly the most disturbing country I've ever seen in my life

It is hard to believe such a place exists where millions have to their lives controlled by one man.

Mind-blowing

I doubt it was ever just one man. The new tubby guy looks like he knows nothing about anything, I've always assumed there's a team of people ruling that country behind one poster boy. Kind of like in this clip:

It's all the "Generals" you see behind Kim Jong Un that are really running the show. I believe Kim Jong Il was mostly a puppet too.

This episode was really good! I highly recommend this.

Just watched it. Was truly amazing episode

Everything about it was creepy. The room full of frozen statues (a.k.a. people) pretending to use the Internet, the shopping mall where the Vice crew were the only shoppers. I thought to myself, "This is kinda like the Truman Show, with actors just waiting around, holding their places and waiting to play their part", and then the Vice dude compared it to the Truman Show himself.

Creepy, unbelievable, disturbing....sad and truly fascinating to see an entire country so detached and brainwashed

reply

I just can't believe that it's real. We take so much of our freedoms for granted. That tour was amazing.

Hey if you believe Glenn Beck this is where Obamacare's gonna take us.

First everybody gets medicine, then next thing you know we're all watching Dennis Rodman play basketball with a bunch of Globetrotters.

Its a slippery slope people.

Pathetic brainwashed peasants they deserve to be made slaves of

Nazi Germany was also controlled by one man.

It is a dictatorship but they're never controlled by one man. He is the leader but there is a upperclass/military class and so forth. Some people like better than others. And he depends on the military class to keep people in line. China could help this country especially with the poverty situation but prefer it that way.

The first documentary that Shane did back around 2007 or 2008 was a lot better. There were two other docs that featured Shane Smith regarding North Korea with one doc about the labour camps in Russia and another about the movies that are filmed there.

This episode started out good but went downhill fast with the corny basketball game and sucking up to Kim Jong Un. The hipster guy in it was also really annoying. Vice's earlier docs were so much better and a lot more raw.
