Why was Deacon calling for....*spoilers*

Why was Deacon calling out Father Crellick's name towards the end?
Father Crellick was DEAD!

Did he think he was seeing a ghost, then?

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

I think he was hoping it was the Father more than anything else, as he could finish the ritual and things were desperate. Gray was telling him to stop and turn back but didnt want to be alone, so he followed Deacon. I was surprised when Deacon did what he did, as he was level-headed: it could also be that due to what had happened in his past, that he didnt want to be responsible for any more deaths & lost his reason...

Apologies- I got the wrong Father! I'm guessing that you meant Mark- and if I was surprised by his following Father Calvino, I was gobsmacked when he decided to risk his ( and Grey's) life traipsing through ever-narrow tunnels chasing a dead man!
My only explanation is the same as my other one: that he didnt want another death on his conscience and had, by that point was so desperate that he lost his reason. Much as I love this film, (to all naysayers, it really does get better with each viewing-similar to 'Session 9') that was the bit that annoyed me. That Deacon would chase after what was (to us) an obvious attempt to lure him and Grey in deeper, he still continued, despite Grey's complete dependence on him and begging him to turn around while they still could.

Phew! Sorry for the length of my reply but this film makes me think so much that I could probably write a 3,000 word essay on it

No, he meant the priest who killed himself. I thought the same thing at the time. Why call after someone you know is dead? Completely out of character, even if he was drunk.

He'd lost it by then... locals had turned hostile... past catchin up with him... booze makin the psychosis worse... id like to have had more info about the previous assignment. .. looked like he'd lost it there too...

Saw this recently--had wanted to see after seeing a trailer of it years ago---and found it to be surprisingly well-made, and with some real creepy moments here and there. I didn't get why Deacon was so quick to go down a cave he'd never been in at night, because he thought either Mark or the priest went in there. That didn't make any sense because he didn't see either one of them go down there---it's like whatever was in the caves just pretended to sound like someone hollering just to get him and Gray down there. They shouldn't have never gone down in those caves, though. That being said, this was a pretty good film, especially since it's rare to see any found footage films from Britain--so that also made it stand out. Really good film, though.
