Who would be afraid of an English ghost?!

I just dont see it.

Why would anyone be scared of an English ghost? What is it going to do, slap you across the face with a glove and spill tea on your shoes?

'Mmm...boo I say old chap. Boo even!'

Yeah...that's scary.

If an english ghost is after you all you have to do is wait until tea time then you can leave without being bothered.

Jokes aside, I just can't get into the idea of something from England being scary. Stonehenge? Sure. Typical English ghost? They are too precious to be scary.

Umm... There's no ghost in this film...

The whole paranormal aspect of it got me thinking about the English ghost theory. I didnt say there was a ghost in this movie. 'Ghostly related' :p

Hey Goatbut. Read up on '50 Berkeley Square' and still try and say there's nothing scary about an English ghost.

Assuming you are American, most of your ghost stories have been stolen from English and European folklore anyway. Not to mention the Native American Indians.

Capitalism: *beep* on the little guy whilst making him feel like he has a chance.

Why do Americans keep ripping off Asian horror?

''If it bleeds, we can kill it.''

Maybe they ran out of superhero's to recycle.

reply

Well the Woman in black is pretty freaking scary....and you should read up on the Enfield Poltergeist.

I know you're trolling goatbut, but English ghost stories aren't about 'in your face' scares. They're about 'decorum and restraint' (thanks Wikipedia!)

Please check out the TV versions of M R James' stories or the box set of the BBC's 'A Ghost Story For Christmas'.

While the idea of a ghost sipping a cup of tea is a funny one, I second the poster saying to check out MR James Ghost Stories and 'A Ghost Story for Christmas'. We do have the ability to fright when we want to!

Lol we don't all drink tea
