painful to watch

this movie has so little to do with the novels...plots, ages, miscasts..it is a travesty...reminds me of Depardieu's Monte Christo...one can expect such travesties in US versions (monte Christo, Musketeers) but such travesties be made by the French? with such disregard for the french novels??????
true movie versions are for example Monte Christo with the immortal Jean Marais (us version with Chamberlain is close as well) three musketeers by Mark Lester is very close..tho unnecessary comedic features
the one ond onlly TRUE adaptation is Queen margot
