So Piz dumps her after 9 years, just like that ....

That seemed to happen a bit too easily ... you'd think they'd be able to work things out.

When she meets his boss at the beginning, he said that they dated four months in college and then "this whole last year". He even mentions that she has never met his parents. If they'd been together all that time, she'd have met his parents, most likely.

Right, thanks. I need to watch it again !

Just finished this movie and no they didn't date for 9 years... The above is correct.

It wasn't that easily and no they really couldn't have worked things out, it was never going to work for them after Logan came back into her life. Piz could see she was still in love with Logan and that she would never feel for him what she feels for Logan, I guess he could see he wasn't going to win this one and just cut his losses and ended it.

The scene change after he dumped her was of the television kind: just got dumped, seconds later, she stops caring...

reply

I thought the implication was that she didn't care that much in the first place, and that was exactly why he broke up with her.

Rob Thomas seems to like giving VM an easy way out so she wouldn't have to break up with other guys she was in serious relationships with (Duncan in season 2, Piz in the movie) to be with Logan.

Yes, obviously Piz could tell she still had feelings for Logan. If he thought she didn't it would be pretty stupid of him to break up with her because she felt that ensuring that her oldest friend in the world that knows her better than anyone doesnt spend the rest of his life in jail was more important than meeting his parents which could happen at any time.
