Meh...shoulda been Emmy Rossum

Someone who actually reached puberty?

That was my thought. I do like Emma Watson, she comes across as very educated, intelligent and well-spoken. But when she's not made up her looks are average at best. I don't understand how so many people think she's the most beautiful woman on Earth. She looked especially plain in this movie; they didn't seem to make much effort with her makeup or hair. Compare her look in this movie to her red carpet looks. During the song "Belle" the lines about her being the most beautiful girl in town were just laughable.

Belle is supposed to be both an intellectual and a stunning beauty. Emmy Rossum fits both these bills - AND she can sing - and would have been pitch perfect for the role. Remember how she was as Christine Daae? She looks straight out of another era and just has this "fairytale" look - huge eyes, beautiful long curly hair, great presence.

I kinda mentally replaced Watson with Rossum! She would have looked more gorgeous in the yellow gown done to accentuate her beauty like that pink Masquerade gown in Phantom instead of the prom dress Emma Watson suggested!

Not to mention Rossum is built more like a woman and not a 7th grade kid.

Not to mention her operatic singing chops in “Phantom of the Opera”.
