Harsh criticism.

I actually thought this not too bad, it's hit and miss. Not everyone is going to like the surreal and sometimes overly blatant sketches, but it's worth waiting for the little gems. I found myself watching the entire series as it gave me enough enjoyment. I don't find much of this particular type of comedy on the BBC (at this time) and it makes a change from the dire (although much loved by some) Mrs Browns Boys.

I'm watching it now (thanks to YouTube) and enjoying it. I wouldn't call it great, but it's pretty good. As you say, it's hit-and-miss, but that's the way it is with ALL sketch shows. Often, it's the "throwaway" jokes that are the best (those little gems). Brilliant, even! I've long enjoyed Kevin's work and applaud him for having the guts to do the silly stuff.

I agree with you about Mrs. Brown's Boys as well. You know what it reminds me of? When the Whistle Blows, the *parody* series in Extras. Dirty joke, laugh, dirty joke, laugh, rinse, repeat, vomit. :p
