preposterous plot putrefies performances


The acting was quite good. The story was downright silly. It is possible he wouldn't recognize his wife (ex-wife) if they just met at some random time & did nothing more than converse for a bit. But .......
a) they did a LOT more than converse
b) they did all this while constantly discussing her potential as an imposter for Nelly.
Downright ridiculous that he did not realize it WAS Nelly.

I finished watching it only because the whole thing was so absurd that I thought maybe the "big reveal" would be that Johnny DID know it was Nelly. Nope. Not even that.

Having the friend commit suicide also added nothing except melodrama.

2 stars ... only for acting
