new disney girl

just watch...all the disney kids get their start with some disney channel movie. So I can guarantee that in a few months, Dove Camerson will be the new disney girl who sings and dances and will have her own show haha

reply

She already has her own show.. Liv and Maddie.. and it doesn't completely, or you could say it barely, involves singing or dancing.

reply

She has a show already.

Liv & Maddie isn't doing well, unfortunately

It was only renewed for a half-season order (13 episodes) versus a full one.

It's more of a drama than a comedy which may be why it's not doing well in the ratings considering Disney Channel's main audience.

My kids watch Disney all the time, after the movie started and I realized who she was I asked my kids if the show was still on. As much as we have that channel on I've seen the same episode of Jessie, Good luck Charlie, Ant Farm, icarly,Sam and Kat etc (yes I know some of those are Nick) over and over but only seen Liv and Maddie once or twice, seems like they don't play it that often. That could be another reason it's not doing so well.

reply

I honestly don't see any comedy nor drama in Liv and Maddie.

The characters are all just.. there. It does have its funny moments but they're just not consistent.

I still tune in occasionally for the sake of the show still being a little "new" and giving it chances.

I think the biggest thing that hurt L&M was the fact they didn't cast real life twins to play L&M like they did with the Sprouse Brothers in SLOZC/SLOD, or Tina and Tamera Mowery in Twitches.

Dove is a fine actress, but it's gimmicky when you have one actress play both twins and people don't like gimmicks, to be blunt.

reply

Tia not Tina and way before Twitches they had their own successful sitcom Sister Sister. Having actual twins would've helped but the biggest problem with Liv and Maddie is the writing. The characters are all just "there" like someone mentioned before.

reply

It's Tia and Tamera. Both of their careers are doing pretty well currently, too. Thankfully Liv & Maddie is on its way out.

reply

Wow! I couldn't disagree more with everyone's comments.

1) it ended up getting four seasons.

2) Dove does such an amazing job playing both roles! She dies it so well I can't believe it's NOT done by two different actresses!

3) It has the best writing of any Disney show before it or since! The humor is so funny because it doesn't have the predictable punch lines like so many other Disney shows. Those were so bad in part b/c they relied too much on *telling* jokes instead of through visual reactions and physical comedy.

"Liv and Maddie" is in a totally different league than other Disney shows, and I believe it holds its own against many other non-Disney shows, as well!
