Goofs galore!

Why are movies like this made? This is a classic example of a screenwriter who takes on a subject and gets in way over his head. Let's start with the plot that a college football player from Central Michigan would ever win the Heisman Trophy. Already we know that this kid is not good enough to play for Michigan, Michigan State or any other Big 10 school, let alone anyone school from a power 5 conference.

If that is not bad enough, we learn that he is a defensive back, as he clearly states he once got a bad call from a ref for being called for interference. Obviously, he could have been a wide receiver, but that puts him way too small to play that position. The kid was a shrimp. The prototype at the position these days in 6' 4" and 230 pounds. BEASTS! Think Dez Bryant and Calvin Johnson (and even they didn't win the Heisman)!

Now, we are told he hates reporters and the media?!?!?!? Who do these screenwriters thinks votes on the Heisman? The media, of course. Any Heisman winner would be a diva and a media savvy kid.....

So many other flaws and I will save most of them. Just know that people don't show up to Divisional Headquarters to do their community service for the Salvation Army. Most large corps will have a volunteer coordinator handle such details. Even then, most are screened and background checks done, and after that, a court issued time sheet is filled out by a staff member. I grant you that the busy officer may have given more attention to a minor celebrity, in this case.

Finally, the legal issue bothers me quite a bit. A court ordered community service sentence would simply come with a list of court approved agencies that a person could choose from. Furthermore, the judge's decision would come with a restraining order so as to keep both parties from being in each others presence. The ref/victim was stalking Dalt as he rang the bell. WE are also ask to suspend reality and believe that this sportscaster jerk is nearing 60, yet the least self-aware human being that has ever walked the earth. After the 2nd incident with the little girl---he belonged in jail!

I could say a lot more but I am sure that if you have read all this, you must be bored out of your mind.

Don't bother to reply with----it's just a movie. Just tell me why actors, directors, producers and screenwriters make movies about subjects that they clearly know nothing about....!?!?!
