Louisiana

seems like a very dangerous place in contemporary movies. Meth, guns, knives, clubs, grudge killings, more meth.Oh, and muscle cars. Body count in the Statham vehicle "Homefront" was fairly high, this one has a fair share too. Does Hollywood have a grudge against that State?

reply

I think they like to be able to name a "place" and know that the majority of their audience will have the same, or at least similar, mental image of the place. Nobody goes to Louisiana, other than New Orleans, and rest of state is not very much like NO. Louisiana is rhe new Alabama.

reply

That's funny! In fact, Hollywood has a grudge against everything between Los Angeles and New York.

reply

Actually, Louisiana gives the film industry great incentives and tax breaks to film in their state. This is why so many movies and series have been filmed there lately.

Thank you, I should smack my own head for not thinking tax break! The indignity of it though. A state with previous form as movie locations go.
