The rating on this is absurdly low

This was a good movie. I'm pretty critical about movies, and this is a solid 7. Don't understand the rating, so if it looks interesting to you, check it out.

It wasn't that great. Likeable? sort of. Entertaining and/or original? Not hardly.

I found it entertaining. I didn't say it was great. Solid 7.

I enjoyed the movie. My thing is, I don't compare one movie to another movie, or whatever. I take each movie individually and decide on a case-by-case basis how much I like it. The story was believable, the action moved along at a good pace, and I liked the dialogue. The worst scene was the flashback closeup of Uncle Donny's face telling Hannah that meth labs explode. "Boom". That was annoying in a dorky way.

I think the movie was realistic because Hannah didn't seem to have much of a plan beyond "Replace meth with vitamins and them something will happen". She was a young teenager, after all. Her great plan was to piss off Uncle Frank's clients, but then what. She had no clue what the next step was. I knew that Bill was an undercover cop from the moment he walked in the diner. I have a sixth sense for those things. I couldn't figure out why Hannah wouldn't let Bill help her after he admitted to being a cop. She was supposed to be a smart girl.

This was fairly well-acted but wildly implausible, featuring a stock caricature uber-villain portrayed by Jake Busey (don't get me wrong, he's always fun to watch, but this was way over the top). With a bigger budget and a better script, this could have been pretty good. I didn't hate this, rather I think its very mediocre 5-ish rating here is well-deserved. Just my humble opinion, please take no offense...

Right. Well, I have to-- I have to go now, Duane, because I, I'm due back on the planet Earth.

Ok, I'm sold. I'll give this movie a go since it's on Netflix.

This is what you call a guilty pleasure: good cast, implausible but fun script, soupçon of intelligence (c'mon, based on chess?!) and a Pontiac GTO. What the fuck is not to like?
