I am watching it now. Episode 7 or 8 I'm on. And that means even if it's way better after episdoe 7/8 it still sucks because over half the season is over.
The worst characters are all of them, but the bald white guy and the chick he's getting used by are two of the most hate-able characters I've ever seen on TV.

That's my advice. I stayed with the first season ONLY because of Hiroyuki Sanada and some of the guest stars. Most of the main cast are terrible, even with the more "don't take me seriously" vibe of the show the inane stupidity of most of the characters was palm smacking. Sanada and his character were the best parts of the show. He's not even IN the second season except for a small appearance in two episodes -- which you've already seen. I don't know what they were thinking, or if Sanada had never planned on being in the second season, but he made a good choice not to be.
I keep my expectations low -- then I can be pleasantly surprised.
Mr. Sanada is the only reason I continued watching Season 1. The CDC crews were emotional and did not show any professionalism in S1. S2 plot was even worse and more boring than S1. No wonder it was cancelled.
