Where Did The Terran Space Ship Come From?

One of many plot holes........

reply

oh who cares... asking just one question about this movie means you've put more thought into it than the writer

reply

Not really, if you consider where it was located.

reply

Remember there were multiple AE ships, the lander came from one of them. Because of time dialation, the other ships landed at vastly different times; recall them puzzling over dead fuel cells that were supposed to last 1000 years?

reply

And why did they leave Earth before they had time to paint the drywall? (43:25)

reply

haha! Yeah, noticed that too. It's an Asylum film, what do you expect?! Could have just as well been cardboard.

reply

bwahahaha! I too, as well. Who uses drywall on a starship, when sheet rock would work soooo much better!

reply

That is shocking. I never expected an Asylum production to have a plothole. Usually their films are Oscar-worthy.

*spoiler in the answer*

I said *SPOILER*

at the end of the movie they found out they were on Earth, so the Terran space ship belonged there.
Tim also told them that the ships were programmed to return to earth within 100 years, if they didn't land elsewhere and he lost me on the time distortion conversation.

What I want to know is, why wasn't there more signs of past civilization.

reply

What would be left? After 300k years, even Mount Rushmore would be unrecognizable(well... 50k at best but they've been gone for 300k+ so you get teh idea).

reply

Yes, after that period of time there would be no sign of man's existence on this planet. Which makes me wonder if we are really the first advanced civilization to inhabit earth?

reply

There's probably been an advanced civilization every few million years for the last 200 million. I imagine we'll die off in the next thousand years and in a million, Chimps will replace us and our fossilized bones will appear to their scientist as some failed ancestor that couldn't compete with them... just like Cro-magnon and so many others.

reply

Oh, absolutely. That is why we can find 4 million year old fossilized footprints of early hominids in Kenya but not a thing from the one or two advanced civilizations that rose and fell during that time. You'd think maybe a fossilized tire track or two. I guess every civilization undergoing apocalyptic collapse suddenly grows a "leave no trace" conscience and spends their last dying days tidying up the place.

reply

The world is still far from "discovered".

reply

well you do see mount rushmore at the end when the land the flyer

The difference beteween genious and stupidity... genious has its limit
