"The Death of Superman Lives, Schnepp Nods a Lot"

Seriously!

reply

Painfully distracting, not only as a viewer but surely it must be have been off putting for those being interviewed. I wonder if any of them ever stopped mid-answer and said "Dammit man! Stop bobbing your head!"

reply

I've seen a lot of complaints about it but I found it amusing, for some reason. It was a nice touch.

reply

That's why interviewers shouldn't be shown in documentaries almost ever. Most documentaries are better without them.

Never Drumpf! Never Hillary!

reply

Schnepp needs to watch other documentaries, because although I liked this movie and could not believe he got Tim Burton to talk for more than 10 minutes on anything he needs to learn that the interviewee is the one the audience is there to see not the person doing the interview. He should never even be seen at all interviewing and stop nodding your damn head it is the worse part of the film and makes you look like an idiot.

reply

Clearly he wanted use this as a vehicle to score chicks at Comic Con but he just comes off as a doofus. Narcissism bit you on the ass, Schnepp.

I really didn't notice a thing. I don't think I focused on Schnepp he wasn't that bad.

reply

Anytime he does, he's nodding in agreement, it's not like his head is just bobbing around.

reply

his head is just bobbing around

That's exactly what it is.

Documentarians document. They do not insert themselves into the story, thus changing and/or directing the outcome.

That's just not true.

Go watch Herzog.

reply

He's doing that as a way of giving non-verbal cues instead of spoken statements like, "Yeah," which would destroy the continuity of the audio track and interrupt the speaker. Most documentary interviewers give nods and gestures for this purpose. The problem in this film is that so much of that non-verbal communication is ON CAMERA, which is a puzzling choice.

reply

This cracked me up! I'm in the middle of watching the documentary and I just noticed this - there was one scene where he's nodding at a lady so much and in such an exaggerated way, I was thinking that if he was doing that to me, I'd think he was just making fun of what I was saying and being sarcastic with his extreme nodding! 😂

reply

What's even better is if you look at the trivia section someone put in, "The Director injured his neck several times during filming"

I no longer know who I am and I feel like the ghost of a total stranger.

reply

If a well intentioned but poorly constructed bobble head of Kevin Smith became sentient....
