Would have been a lot more interesting...

if the film dared step out of the traditional hetero-normative framework and made the character a similarly introverted ethereally beautiful teenage boy servicing older women and men or even younger men.

OR made women part of Isabelle's clientelle. They flirt with that idea at the end when she offers to get undressed for Charlotte's character.

OR at least developed the sweet old man's relationship with her further into a full blown affair maybe lasting over several years.

I just feel like the tired framework of horny, frequently mysogynistic old men exploiting underage women is just too limiting and overused. Too much obvious sexism plays into it obscuring the deeper themes. I think that if you have nothing new to say about an old sexual theme as a filmmaker - save your energy and dare delve into a new one.

How edgy it would be.

That being said, I disagree. I consider the film to be a statement on the power of the woman's body in contemporary society, and the self-realization of this said power by a young woman. It's not sexist. If anything, it's degrading for men (then yes, haha, it would be sexism).

Later that day, after tea... I died, suddenly.

I think you need to write that screenplay and sell it; I' sure someone would pick it up; and I would definitely pay to see it.

Totally agree with you.. I was a bit disappointed especially at the ending.
