He needed to sex it up but

Man! Am I ashamed for him or what!?

Do you remember the cast of Harry Potter, how that chubby clumsy turned out thin, classy, straight teeth, rough beard and all? This here with Osmend is exactly what we expected. I don't see him at any major A-list action hero movie anytime soon with this virgin aura all over him. Which is a shame, we ALL were sure it'd be his natural path.

reply

Not sure why he needs to be an action hero. But someone could probably write him a fun comic book fan/unlikely superhero movie.

I give you an easy example: the new Robin (Batman) played by the old kid from Third rock from the sun. Another: that nerdy looking guy that acted along with Bruce Willis in the terrible Die Hard 4.0. Even Leo di Caprio did the young nentally ill brother of Gilbert Grape (that Johnny Depp young movie) and later did a respectful Departed movie, and Inception.

I mean: there are cool transitions and poor transitions. This is one. Other example would be that cool girl from Parker Lewis (curly smart feminist etc etc) who later did that awful part in a movie as a decadent stripper.

reply

Exactly. What kiind of idiot judges an actor's talent by how many super hero/get the girl roles he's had? Maybe he can just continue to take roles of substance and character. SPOILER-> The fact that he could have had Pilar but turned her down because he was man enough to wait for what he really wanted? Come on. That was pretty deep. I wish I had had the balls to do that when I was 23.

reply

I'm sure there are people who are disappointed in how you turned out. Not everyone grows up beautiful. Not everyone has the same body image goal.

it's amazing that you can feel ashamed for anyone other than yourself right now, jeez.

Plot hole - Aspect of a film that is misunderstood or missed while using your smart phone.

I'd reply properly but since you two reached that point of personally attacking the topic person, I can't go further here ('cos next'd be your-mama-is comments or something like it). Cheers.

reply

Those two were actually staying on topic. You started off at the point of personal attacks in your topic post by blasting Haley on his appearance. When you do that you open the door to those same types of criticisms your way. Deal with it or keep your [judgmental / vain / pretentious / superficial] opinions to yourself. In fact keep them to yourself regardless.

reply

Well said! The original post had absolutely nothing to contribute toward the movie subject in the first place. Some people don't know how to do anything but insult others. I suppose it makes them feel superior. Honestly, I never understood that.

reply

Honestly, and I'm not just saying this to be mean, but people like you are everything that's wrong with Western Society right now. Sure, physical beauty has always been appreciated and there's nothing wrong with that at all, it's completely normal, but when you start to judge an entire person's ability or worth within their profession just bc they don't live up to the current conventions of attractiveness, that's just sad.

reply

Amen. Shouldn't we be judging an actor on his craft not his looks?

reply

Its kind of ironic, because thats the message of this movie a little. In the end, he stays true to what he is. Cliche, yes, but still an effective message. Its not good to judge people. You're judging by how he was 12, 16, 20 years ago when he was a kid. Which is totally different to how you act as an adult. Did you expect him to be have his baby face looks? I don't see what you're trying to argue. He seems like a cool person to hang with. He seems awesome in fact.

Showing off is the fools idea of glory

"it's amazing that you can feel ashamed for anyone other than yourself right now, jeez."

It's amazing that you haven't yet expired yet from an overdose of smugness emanating from the fact that you THINK you know it all. Dear Hancockenstein, I bet you probably come here to share your 'wit' with others since your smug, condescending attitude probably would get you slapped/punched in the face in real life, right?

reply

I come here for other reasons too. am I supposed to be embarrassed? I only insult shallow, obnoxious twats. I never said I know everything, but if someone disregards my advice that usually results in getting along with as many people as possible and punches me instead the one you should feel bad for in the long run is clearly them right?

reply

We need actors like him, he looks like an everyday person, sure he has a bit of a baby-face look but he can easily portray an average person. He's clearly intelligent, very charismatic and certainly has comic timing. I don't think he's being offered roles because of his looks, which is a shame because Hollywood needs to get real and start hiring actors based on ability rather than sticking to stereo typed philosophy. I really rate him and don't see why he can't star in action movies, he has piercing eyes and with his acting ability I could envisage him doing a Joe Pesci I'm small but don't f##k with me type role!

reply

U seem jealous. It's easy to target someone who stands out. Your negativity is not needed. You don't know if that man is a virgin or not. He's a an actor! Just appreciate his movies and stop picking him apart. You jealous tart. He still looks like he can play a high school kids. He has time to mature and grow. He's a good actor. And you're a jealous fan.

reply

Sure sure, I should like anything he does otherwise I'm jealous.
That's simplistic as f.

reply

I like HJO, but what can I say? I don't really need my actors to have an aura of sex about them.

"Can you hear them singing?"
