Way too much shouting

Sorry to disappoint, but I changed the channel about 35 minutes into it. I don't care if his character is bipolar or not, I couldn't take Zahn's shouting anymore. The previews for this looked good, too. Damn.

"Dude, on my car. He showed up naked. Covered in bees."

reply

I would give it one more chance. If you hate the next episode than write it off.

Wonder is the seed of knowledge.

reply

Much better in later Episodes, when he gets it under control.

reply

Yes, they need to tone the characters back a bit in the shouting and throwing things department. I had a hard time watching the show, I'll admit.

reply

Agree! Clark needs to be toned down quite a bit. And I didn't find the ex-wife to be very likeable, either...

I smell dark magic! It's a bit like burnt popcorn.

reply

Me too...I think I turned it off just as the Insurance guy "smiled" at the mother and son waiting to see him, probably around 10:35 - 10:40...but I did so for exactly the same reason -- Zahn's yelling / shouting / screaming.

reply

I have to agree. I understand that they want to make the show authentic and that maybe bi-polar people are supposed to be this way (I am not saying they are, I am not an expert on that subject), but the point is, it's up to the show's staff to balance that with making the show something that won't turn viewers off as well.

reply

It's different. Bipolar people need to be talked to so they won't go crazy. If normal interaction calmed them down, they wouldn't be bipolar.

reply

Bipolar people are erratic during a manic episode but erratic doesn't equal constant shouting nor the obnoxious way in which he acted.

reply

If they don't fix that pretty soon, this show either won't last or it will appeal only to a very small niche audience that likes that sort of stuff.

reply

Who wants to watch yelling on TV? What's with all the yelling? Thumbs down 3x, deleted season pass.

reply

Yeah, I decided to delete my season pass after the first episode. Maybe we're being a bit hasty (they might fix it), but there's so much other stuff I want to see, so I've ditched this.

I like Slater, but recently he seems to be picking some TV vehicles that just don't pan out. Maybe he needs a better agent!

reply

I agree. I'll give it another shot, but if they don't dial it back quite a bit I won't be watching for the long run.

reply

I'm totally turned off and won't be watching it.

Boo Hoo! Let me wipe away the tears with my PLASTIC hand!--Lindsey McDonald (Angel)

reply

I came here to see if anyone else tired of the screaming after 20 minutes....I really wanted to like the show, but Zahn's character is awful.

reply

I thought it was intense but still interesting. I'm gonna give it a few episodes since I'm bipolar myself and can relate to some extent. I do agree however that the behavior was a bit over the top. Bipolar disorder is scaled and he seems to have the "worst" kind.

reply

I wondered if someone who is bi-polar would be offended. His performance bordered on stereotype.

reply

Some of his actions were legit with how a manic episode would play out.

But his shouting and over the top, obnoxious behavior was so stereotypically inaccurate.
