I hope this isn't cancelled; I fear it's above too many people's heads

I don't really need to say more, do I? Do you agree?

Not at all. I don't remotely think the reason its numbers are low is because people aren't getting it. I think they're just not nuts about the rather tired premise, and also a lot of viewers don't like Zahn's overacting (I get a kick out of it, personally). Then there are the problems with the show's heavy-handed moralizing, and our heroes miraculously coming out on top even when they ignore their own methods. I like it in spite of these things, myself, mainly because I'm enjoying the cast, but I can't say I think it's really all that good.

And the numbers are truly terrible. It's probably going to get axed. I'm pretty much just hoping for one more episode at this point.

The characters blatantly explain the tactics to each other, or rather the audience, so there's no chance of it going over anyone's head.

A more likely culprit would be the more basic complain of shouting. I continue to blame the decision to put together such a large cast. We're several episodes in and know almost nothing about half of them.

I was looking forward to watching this and haven't seen a single episode yet as abc for some reason has refused to release the episodes on demand.
Which is stupid on their part, and I really wish they would do it. I slept through the show last night, and now can't see it unless the episode gets re-run.

I also noticed that ABC would not place the episodes in On Demand. I took my boyfriend's suggestion and watched the show on Hulu. The absence of Mind Games from On Demand makes me wonder if the network is setting the show up to fail.

reply

Hey, good info! Had no idea it was on Hulu.

Unfortunately, the latest episode, "Cauliflower Man," is only available via Hulu Plus. Ah well.

Give it a few days or a week and the last episode may be on regular Hulu.

Good to know, thanks!

That and putting it up against Person of Interest.

reply

Trust me, that was not the problem.

It's not a new premise, Leveage did a better job.

Way too much shouting and overkill. He's bipolar, we get it. They do have periods of normal behavior. They don't constantly yell. Manic episode does not equal acting like a 5 yr old throwing a temper tantrum 24/7.

reply

I had a bipolar boss, and she was rarely normal. She yelled at everyone on most days. SZ's antics were dead on and reminded me of her.

reply

Bipolar seems to be the mental health diagnosis of the month, so to speak. It is a shame that more people didn't watch this clever show.

Wonder is the seed of knowledge.

If you believe it's above too many people's heads then you actually do need to say more for people to understand why it shouldn't be cancelled...

No he doesn't - he is one of those ubiquitous posters who tries to establish how superior he is to the masses because essentially he isn't. You don't need a thing explained - your instincts are fine. This show is a major fail because few viewers found an actor shouting and overacting the entire time either entertaining or tolerable.
