How are the women supporting themselves? Does either work anymore?

I know that Emma quit her job as a business exec in China to help her friend with the baby. How are the two women supporting themselves?

reply

I guess the poor old husband is going to have to support these two slackers. First he gets thrown out of HIS house for talking with someone on the internet and now he will most likely have to pay Maggie child support AND alimony. I could never understand why it is always the man who has to leave the house he is paying for and then have to also pay to live somewhere else. Doesn't seem fair to me but then I am not a female. Maybe Emma can get some money from her mom to help out.

Actually, as you can see in the latest episode, Emma is supporting the "poor old husband", so you can quit whinging about the blight of a fictional character.

Funny how vile misogynists like you try and pass off 'cheating' as 'talking.' If it was merely talking then why did he not do it in front of Maggie, but instead hide like a COWARD in the basement?

I asked Lennon and Jessica this very question via Twitter and their answer is that Emma has a good bit of money in the bank cause of her being so good at her job so they are good for a while.

reply

I agree the cheating was but I don't agree with the husband not allowed to see the child.

I think it was made fairly clear that Emma was living the high life for a while. Unless she's a complete financial idiot, she should have some money to live off for a while, especially since the cost of living is smaller in small towns.

I also don't believe the show has been explicit that Maggie is unemployed. She might have a job that's just shown off-screen.

Who is being a crybaby about what bs now?

reply

I think it's Maggie's house. I believe it was her parents' house that she inherited after they passed away.

"I told you I was freakay... but you didn't believe me..."

reply

It is actually her house. It is the house she grew up in and I assume she (and maybe her brother) got the house after the parents died.

I was under the impression that the house Maggie lives in was her deceased parents....so yea she gets it.

I used to ask this question with lot's of shows and then I just accepted that it's television. It's not a bad question, but it's hardly unique to Playing House.

It's a damn comedy, why do they have to explain every single detail out, I don't get it! If you like the show them watch it, if you don',t then don't!

I remember it was mentioned in season 1 that the house was Maggie's childhood home....it's the episode about the racoons overtaking her backyard playhouse. Since Maggie just gave birth, being on maternity leave is within the whelm of reailty, and there are episodes showing Maggie working/managing/owning a restaurant.
