To cast Mariel Hemingway, the grand daughter of Ernest, is just a bit tack IMO. She has proven in the past that she is a terrible actress. Seems the only reason to cast her is her name.

But so far, it seems like it's just a smaller role, nothing wrong with that.

Who was she, the old lady in the bar drinking with the young men? I don't see why it was tacky to cast her.

She was at the dinner table where when Giovanni first arrived at Ernie's estate. She was literally just a background character with no pertinent dialogue and never appeared again.
