The Incredibly Bad TV Show

A whole show about a man showing off to some hired nobodies how he manages to survive incredibly stupid things. Only interluded with scripted reality segments about his uninteresting personal life.

Everyone's a critic...

Ok, so if everything finds its critic then I dare you to write something nice about the show.

You're very welcome to your opinion about the guy and his personal life, of course you are - and I wouldn't suggest otherwise. You just come across in writing as very scathing, and to suggest the show uses "hired nobodies" seems to imply you know something about the production? Do you really think those people were paid to react?

My own opinion is that there are very, very few shows on British TV that are as striking as this right now. I applaud the way it highlights the historical antecents of daredevils and escape artistry - Houdini's Buried Alive stunt, Yakima Canutt's 360 degree stage coach climb, the fakirs of the Far East and their Beds of Nails - while also giving them a thrilling update. I also think it is very well shot and edited in a selection of eye-catching locations. Of course it probably isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I reckon it's still really good entertainment.

Gotta agree mate. I wanted to like this but the B.S. reality tv vibe put me off. It made Mr Goodwin look like an absolute tool. I cringed the most at his car-flip stunt. The stunt itself was good. The rest of his shtick was unremittingly bad. All that nonsense about his daughter giving power to flip the damn car made me want to throw my drink at the tv.

We now live in a world where no one is impressed with anything. Yay, us.

We also live in a world where every teenager wants to imitate what he sees on the telly. :(

So far I have seen him do three stunts where he gets a random woman to volunteer - off the street - to stand in front of a flying knife or arrow, and risk her life so he can save her. (Or not kill her, which we're supposed to think that's the same thing..)

He's the daredevil?

Imagine that.

I know they are stunts. The question is are they real or not? Is it just camera effect/tricks? If they are real stunts then the guy is amazing and thus the show is amazing even with the "uninteresting personal life." And from the looks of it the stunts seem to be real. Like eating the glass for example. And if the people are "hired" nobodies, then they are damn good actors/actresses and hollywood should hire them.

I like the darts thing where he hit the target that the guy told him to hit facing backwards. If that's real, that's f'ing awesome. Point is, it's not just "surviving incredibly stupid things." If that's what it was I probably wouldn't like the show either.

I was watching some videos of him on youtube and found one where he failed and he was hanged called "Cheating the gallows." They cut the rope so he lived. I think that proves that he is for real and it isn't fake. I noticed in some of his stunts he puts OTHER PEOPLE in danger. It does add a little bit of excitement but sometimes he doesn't even tell them what they are in for and just goes through with it. There just seems to be something wrong about that in my opinion. Overall I like the show and the guy(Mr. Goodwin) though.

OK, I just watched another episode and I am starting to agree with you. They are horrible/boring stunts. If they were done "live" then they would be good because there would a risk of him dying that we don't know about. But we know he is going to survive the "dangerous stunts" which are stupid because it was prerecorded. I don't care to watch a guy wrap plastic around his head unless it's LIVE because it's boring to watch. "Wow, did he really survive the plastic?" Is anybody really asking themselves that or giving a sh**? I would rather just go watch David Blaine do card tricks. There is only so much of the same thing that you can watch over and over again and be impressed. I thought they would at least be "cool" stunts. He does like 5 boring stunts in one show. Maybe if he did like 20 it would be a good show.
