The film has some good moments but overall it is padded with too much petty bickering, so that by the time the real drama unfolds my reaction was muted by indifference.

The film compares unfavourably to Rusudan Pirveli's more interesting film Susa. But even more so, watching it made me realize how much I miss the golden age of Georgian film, the more poetic films by Tengiz Abuladze, Nana Dzhordzhadze, the Shengelaya family, Sergei Parajanov, etc. I'm actually starting to wonder whether the current wave of austere European neo-realism has run its course.
