So who really is Red and what is his relationship to Liz?

Time for the show to wrap up the loose ends and give us an answer.

That's the whole premise of the show. Like who killed Laura Palmer. If they reveal it, the show is over.

Bingo!

They've all but killed already by the constant reveals and then take backs of the reveal episodes later. I think it could have made it just as well if not better if they had done a real reveal 4 seasons ago. Even if it required killing Liz the show could have survived if only for Red to be hell bent on revenge.

I've long since abandoned any attempt to understand WTF is going on in this silly show, or to extract any fragment of logic from it. I only continue to watch it for Spader. He could entertain
me by reading a grocery list.

Agree. But I do hope they let us know before the plug is finally pulled on the show.

never going to happen because the writers don't know

That's one of the main reasons I just gave up on the show. Love James Spader. And he's brilliant as Raymond Reddington but the whole thing where they just kept stringing us along &, on & on, for 20 plus episodes, every freaking season, just became annoying & frustrating. To the point that I just found myself not caring anymore.

Also, Liz is such a frustrating character who flip flops all the freaking time. The writing for that character is SO inconsistent.

Would honestly watch an entire show around Red & his criminal organization. I just don't care for the most of the supporting characters. Especially "The Good Guys".

I drifted away from this series but I remember from season 1 or 2 Liz asking him directly if he was her father and he clearly stated NO. I also seem to remember Red alluding to feeling responsible for Liz' life like he made a promise to her parents or something. After not watching this series much after that I thought this issue was resolved but apparently not.
