Come on...

OK, so Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia exists, and it is in Canada. So, why was the FBI flying planes, and rushing the cottage, when it should have been the RCMP? Maybe the FBI would have been there, but NOT leading the raids.

I wrote about it here:

At least they didn't have the characters dressed in winter parkas running around in snow with dog sleds.

Thank you!

International law regarding hot pursuit across land borders is unsettled.

I'll give you marks for being persistent.

Take your time and read this slowly: The FBI does not have jurisdiction in Canada. Neither does any other police force.

May be hard for Americans to grasp but most things foreign are.

I have been to Canada many times and I love the country. I've traveled as far as 300 miles north of Montreal and into Unorganized Territory to fish on Lac Parent and the Bell River near Senneterre. I heard many Canadians express to me their grief over RFK's death in 1968 while many Americans were still calling Bobby a n****r-lover and a lefty for going against the Vietnam war. I've traveled to a few other countries as well, so I have a slight grasp of a few foreign things.

As far as the Blacklist episode, do you remember when Mossad grabbed Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann from Argentina in 1960, placed him on trial and executed him. Israel didn't get a permission slip from Argentina. When SEAL Team 6 took out Osama bin-Laden, it was without Pakistan's permission (at least officially). So these things do happen.

Hot pursuit for me means actually pursuing someone continiously. So law enforcement doesn't have to just stop in the middle of the ocean or a forrest while doing that. From the episode it seems to me they didn't know for a while where she was. Red then found out (which is a lead at best, I mean we know he is usually right but the Canadians don't), they travelled back to the USA, put a team together and invaded Canada. I don't see the hot pursuit there.
