Did The Blacklist

Go on a long or short break ? Anyone know ?

The Blacklist returns April 20. It seems like they just got back. The Blacklist Redemption will air in its place.

"The Blacklist: Redemption" (a mini-series and/or spinoff of "The Blacklist") will air approximately eight episodes in between the time when "The Blacklist" returns in April, as wheelin176 previously stated.

"...Redemption" stars Famke Janssen (Susan "Scottie" Hargrave), Ryan Eggold ("Tom Keen") and Edi Gathegi (Matias Solomon")...although I'm honestly not as enthusiastic with this series as I am with the original "Blacklist." However, I'll likely still watch it as it does look like this show will directly tie in with its parent show.

Thanks for the update. I'll watch it when it returns as long as Spader is still on. The man could entertain me reading a grocery list. As to Redemption, I think I'll pass.

No problem...and agreed. Spader is a Hollywood legend that could read me pretty much anything and I'd still watch or pay to see it!

Redemption is just okay so far. Rest assured that I wouldn't say that you're missing too much at this point.

Thanks for the update, jmcd.

No problem at all! :)

Jmcd can you tell me if the show it's worth watching??

reply

Hey Demry! Sorry for the late reply as I have not been on here for a few days.

To answer your question, so far, I can tell you that Redemption is just okay. At this point, I am only watching it out of fears that it will tie directly into its parent show "The Blacklist" when it returns from its hiatus in April. I personally believe that this show suffers without James Spader...and it kind of shows with "Redemption." Good thing knowing that "Redemption" only has a few episodes left (they are currently on Episode five out of eight but it might come back after "The Blacklist" goes on hiatus again).

With that being said, the spin off "Redemption" is indeed worth a watch, and I would only recommend it based off the fact that it does appear to tie into the original series. As for the original "Blacklist" I will always prefer this show over its spin-off. James Spader really makes this show. The man could sit in a chair and read the phone book and I would still be entertained!

All in all, however, if you like a good crime thriller with humor and drama mixed in, then this show is for you!

Thanks for the update jmcd, but without Spader, I'll pass.

I'm with you on that! "Redemption" just ended and "The Blacklist" has since returned. However, there is an off-chance that NBC could bring it back for a second mini-season in between the next hiatus for the parent series ("The Blacklist").

Speaking of "The Blacklist" it seems that Mr. Kaplan is up to no good and is trying to seek revenge on Red for her attempted murder. This series is really starting to heat up again, in my opinion!

For sure The Blacklist isn't doing dull.

That is correct. It doesn't do dull. Wacky maybe, but not dull.
