Please, with the animus crap.

I haven't played any AC games after this one, so I don't know if they keep doing the same thing.

I'm about 40% of the way through this one and I'm loving it. The only downside is the horsesh#t around the animus, and the pulling out of the game that it entails. I hate it. I HATE it and I've hated it in every previous version. I don't give a rat's anus about anything happening outside the animus. Don't make me do this wandering around crap and this minigame puzzle bullsh#t in the guise of adding some kind of depth to the game.

Just stop. I'm OK if you insist on adding these ridiculous ambiguous storylines to stay with the theme, but just make them cutscenes that can play out while I have a leak or mix a drink, don't force them into and thereby interrupt the game, forcing me to wander around and do things that are just a massive annoyance in order to get back into the actual game.

...then whoa, differences...

Correct.

I have to say, even as annoying as it is, I think Ubisoft are getting fed up with them too. The out -of-animus sequences in Black Flag seemed to be a lot less frequent than in the other games, from what I can remember.

I doubt they will drop them altogether now, but it does seem they're phasing out their importance.

Yes to be fair I think I've noticed a gradual decline as the games go by, which is good. Hopefully that continues in the later ones I haven't played.

I'm aware that it's an important element in the world of the game, and I can accept them chewing up their time including it. But just please, don't make me have to participate. As I said, I'm fine if it's just cutscenes to maintain the premise but please don't make my re-emergence into the actual game dependant on doing stupid boring minigames or manually finding and talking to npc's or frustrating pointless obstacle courses outside the animus. TOO annoying.
