21% on Rotten Tomatoes

Not sure why they hate it so much. I saw it and loved it. The theater was packed (not 100% full but empty seats were hard to find unless you sat up front).

Agree. It's not so bad at all.

Probably because the target audience aren't the kind of people who rush to Rotten Tomatoes to rate a movie - or even know it exists.

You mean critics? Who get paid to watch movies and rate them?
You obviously have no idea what Rotten Tomatoes even is.

reply

Not all critics on Rotten Tomatoes are professionals.

Whatever is going on, the hatchet job doesn't seem to have worked. The movie is currently rated at 4.3, which isn't much, but better than it was last week.

The target audience for the Christmas Candle is not critics.

And I agree with eigasuki that the target audience for this movie (and movies of this sort) is not the kind to go to Rotten Tomatoes to trash movies like this. I know you weren't referring to me, but I am quite aware of what Rotten Tomatoes is, and so (I suspect) is eigasuki.

You don't have to question his knowledge to make your point (if you have one).

Maybe, like me, Susan Boyle! Don't like seeing her, much less hearing her. And I don't care what her ailments are. She needs a few cats!

Rotten Tomatoes now has this movie at a deplorable 18%.....but the "Audience Score" of non-professional viewers is a hopping 75%, indicating this movie is more of a crowd pleaser than serious art and pretension.
