I hope they don't mess this up!

I only recently discovered the web-series and have only seen the first 15-or-so episodes (time and being busy has prevented me from being able to see it all, although I am planning on marathoning all of the episodes sometime within the next week or two), but it's absolutely phenomenal, and I hope the big-screen version won't mess it up!

And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?

reply

I've been watching the show for several months now. I'm really hoping they don't screw it up.

I'm not so optimistic about this. Mosaic is a young, not-so-well-known studio, and caught-on-tape horror has never really gotten high critical acclaim.

Still, I'm glad Slender Man is finally getting a movie, and I hope this film is at least decent. Also, I wonder how much of the web series story will get into the movie?

reply

Personally speaking, just seeing Slender Man in the big screen with a genuine fleshy head (sans face, of course), will make it all worth it. I get that small time filmmakers have to use cloth or other materials to cover up his face, but I wanna see Slender Man as he's intended to be seen.

Trust me, compared to the web series, they have nowhere to go but up. Even just having an actual plot and decent pacing would be an improvement.

You'd be surprised...
It's not the first to copy Marble Hornets, and they're still at the top.

It's directed by a guy who's never directed a full length film before.
He's only known as an assistant director for such cinematic atrocities such as Prom Night, Lords of Salem and Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star.
There are all kinds of things they can mess up.

And the original was created by a group of college kids with even less experience. At least give the guy the benefit of the doubt until we actually see a trailer or something.

College kids weren't assistant directors for the movies I just mentioned.

That also means he had no say in anything that happened in those movies. He was a hired employee who just did what he was told. Every filmmaker has to start somewhere. You'd be amazed by some of the crap in the early careers of a lot of directors who went on to be the greats.
