That's what I read earlier today. Production was supposed to begin on October 21st but it didn't happen. Also Thorsten Kaye has accepted a role on the Bold and The Beautiful.

Debbi Morgan has spoken out about the situation. Check out the following link:

I guess it's just as well that Marcy Walker isn't involved with the Prospect Park version of AMC.

Sources have said that the cast and crew have been informed that there will be no second season. If that's true this just proves that PP shelving OLTL because of their lawsuit with ABC, was just an excuse.

Personally I think PP was just in way over their head. They had never produced a soap before and rather than just concentrate on one soap they decided to take on two and at the beginning they were making all kinds of promises they couldn't keep. I don't think they have the funding to keep this going. Soaps are expensive to produce. They would have been wise to have either picked AMC or OLTL and produced that, worked out all the kinks and if it was a success bring on another soap.

Some of the problem too is due to viewers. I've seen so many people complain that it wasn't airing five days a week and 52 weeks a year. They didn't want only a few episodes a week and they didn't want seasons of the show. So I think some of these people just stopped watching them.

I feel sorry for the actors who signed up for PP's AMC. Especially the ones that moved from NY to LA and then moved back to the east coast for the PP version.

I certainly cannot blame any actors, like Thorsten Kaye, for moving on to other jobs. People need money to survive and support themselves and their families.

That's a shame. There was a lot of good in the new show and a bit of bad. But I do give Prospect Park credit for trying to revive the show. I'll miss it.

I agree, rs_cyr, I think the handwriting was on the wall, but it was good to have the shows back, even if only for a little while. I don't think this cancellation stings as much as the ABC cancellation in 2011, but still sad nonetheless. It truly is the end of an era.

How unfortunate. I was checking in on this board to see when the show would be returning, and while I'm disappointed, I can't say I'm surprised. I felt that the storylines weren't that great, the writing was subpar, and most of the new cast were just not very good. Even the veteran actors seemed to struggle with the writing they were given. I was waiting for things to improve, but to add further insult to injury, they kept reducing the number of episodes. It does sound as though there were budgetary problems throughout, and that Prospect Park got in way over their heads in producing soap operas. The most insulting thing, I think, is that we weren't given a satisfying ending. When the show ended the first time around, there was of course the question of who was shot, but ultimately most of the characters' storylines were tied up nicely. This didn't happen on the second round. The result was ultimately very disappointing, and I wish it had been left alone.
