Wouldn't it be easier...

if she just looked for another job? I mean c'mon now. This movie was so unrealistic.

She is single mother (with boyfriend or poor husband?) in city with 23% unemployment, so I don't see reason why not to try keep the job and if not successful then she can look for another, but give up so quickly doesn't improve her prospects.

I thought of this too, but in much of Europe (and so I am assuming in Belgium too) it can be very hard to find a job - very high unemployment. Two days and one night of bugging a dozen co-workers is probably a lot less work.

The thought did occur to me that she might have better spent her energies trying to convince her boss to make some sort of compromise, such as reducing instead of eliminating the bonuses in order to keep her on. But then the movie would have lost its impact, because much of its greatness was in the nature of all the different interactions she had.

She had a chance to keep her job and fought for it - how is that unrealistic?
