What happened at the end?

Did she quit her job because she didn't want somebody else to be laid off or what? Could somebody explain?

reply

They would not have renewed the contract for the French-African who wasn't on a full-term contract. She didn't want to get her job back at his expenses so she walked away.

The boss was quite *beep* he could just tell her they will give them bonus and hire her later without further explanation why, whole premise of movie was quite odd, employees should not care about such business decisions and try to change them, this for sure felt like European socialist movie

The point was that when she was given an even better offer then her colleagues (not just to lose a bonus, but actually keep the job that will save her family) she chose to think of others. It shows that she wasn't a hypocrite throughout the movie and she started to respect herself more in the end.

Also her journey wasn't worthless because she regained some confidence throughout the weekend and was less depressed in the end.
And who knows what the future holds, she might find some other job, however unlikely it seems.

Yes that's correct. And at the end she was finally happy (though she lost her job), since she was able to sacrifice for someone else (by refusing her boss's offer), rather than having to ask for others to sacrifice for her. At least that's what I got out of the ending.
