I Really LIKED It ??

Was expecting really low budget dreck. Instead from the really good opening credit sequence to the end, I was pretty entertained ! The soundtrack is awesome (especially the slow take on 'The One And Only'). I wonder if it is available for purchase.

The cast was really solid overall and the social commentary on the public's love/hate relationship with reality 'stars' was interesting and there was a lot of biting dialogue. Especially how the public ended up rooting for the L.A. Slasher, who ultimately became a social media sensation while attempting to denigrate the no talent 'stars' of reality TV

Also interesting was the distain that the reality 'stars' had for each other, where people like 'the pop star' and 'the stripper' badmouthed the victims saying they were no talent trash and that because *they* had talent they didn't have to worry about being victims of the L.A. Slasher (WRONG !!)

It is nice to be pleasantly surprised by a movie, even if you are going into it with low expectations. It was not a 'scary' movie per se, but the L.A. Slasher certainly didn't skimp on the violence and nastiness.

The drug dealer storyline was a little off for me, especially with the ultimate outcome of the two characters. And I'm also a little unsure of all of the survivors (?? the actress, the popstar, the mayor .... the British socialite , were there others ???)

It was actually interesting that you weren't sure who the L.A. Slasher was (was it Mischa Barton ??)

The biggest relief of the movie ?? When I realized the L.A. Slasher DIDN'T kill the dog .... ha ha ........everyone else was fair game !

The illustrated image used at the end for the one driving the car that the LA Slasher entered is the same one used at the start of the film for Mischa Barton's character, I think. My guess is that Mischa Barton was in cahoot with LA Slasher the whole time.

It was just also weird when she put the little headphones with the '80s-ish pop music' playing after getting in the cop car. I was like 'Is SHE the LA Slasher ? Was she working with him the whole time ?' They never showed her actually KIDNAPPED by the LA Slasher, right ? Just sitting there in her car and then suddenly a report online that she was missing.

P.S. Found the version of 'The One And Only' from this movie as a digital download, so I'm happy about that !! That was the one I wanted most from the soundtrack. Yeaaaaa

She WAS the Slasher! Good catch!

The production values, music, and cinematography were good and set a mood but pretty much all of the acting was terrible. Andy Dick has one of the most annoying voices in the world. 5.4/10
