Ridiculous wigs

Whoever has had the barmy idea of putting the palace footmen in powdered wigs with tails? Such wigs were not worn by footmen until around a century after "The Musketeers" is set, after that had become the usual style of man's wig!

Also, the child Dauphin looks ridiculous in a miniature full-bottomed wig. Louis XIV did indeed introduce the fashion for wearing such wigs, but only as an adult when his own hair began to thin.
