Aramis Inconcistencies

I don't know if it actually an inconcistency but was anyone else bothered by Season 3's push of Aramis not liking to take orders?

I get that Aramis has been characterized as the rule pusher. He's the one who pushes everything a little too far, he strikes out on his own on occasion and various things like that. But, this is still the character who said "We follow our orders even to death." I don't know it just struck me as odd. Maybe if they did a better job contrasting his belief in his duty with his own gut instincts more it would have seemed less out of place?

It's a frusterating aspect of liking BBC shows, but not being British. The series are only 10 episodes long in comparison to North American shows which tend to have double that. When I don't get every question answered my gut instinct is to blame the length. It doesn't really matter though there are plenty of 20 episodes long series that don't effectively tie up loose ends either.

Its something you'll get used to a mental mind *beep* can be nice!
