Devistated

Absolutely devistated that there will no more musketeers they all had a great report. It's such a shame especially when we have to put up with such rubbish as big brother or benefit Street makes me angry?

I completely agree. I'm really going to miss the show and all its amazing characters. Definitely more stories to tell.

But Musketeers probably cost four times as much to make one episode as it does to make an entire series of the dross like Benefit Street.

For that expense, and significant brain and time requirements, you get an hour's worth of TV compared to a schedule full of filler dressed up as entertainment or a documentary.

What's more worrying is that people tune into stuff like that in their tens of thousands and then go on about it on social media like it's something groundbreaking.

I'll really miss it too but you're not making a fair comparison there. The BBC continues to make plenty of quality drama - Line of Duty, Shetland, etc. I despise most of the lowest common denominator pseudo-reality tripe on telly but there's plenty of good stuff to go at.

Whilst I don't think we'll get another 10 part series, I do think the show could return as a one-off shorter series or tv movie. For starters, it would be interesting to see how d'Artagnan handles being Captain of the Musketeers - as his real-life counterpart was - and whether he clashes with Aramis over the safety of the dauphin /future King.
