A question about Milady for the people that read the book

Hi everyone!

First of all, I must say that I have just finished the season 2, so my conclusions on the characters and their storylines still might change.

I have a question for the people that read the book. I read The Three Musketeers about ten years ago when I was 11-12 and I must admit I have forgotten a lot of things. I remember that Milady is much more ruthless and cunning in the book, one can easily say she is evil. She kills Constance among other people, and judging by what I've seen online, I guess that she will not do that in the third season.

Now, that being said, my question is: does Milady from the book loves Athos or no? Or did she marry him just because of his wealth and position? I can't remember that. I remember that she dies in the end, but the rest is kind of blurred to me. My opinion, having finished the second season, is that Athos still loves Milady and that Milady still loves Athos. I believe that Milady from the show truly loved Athos when she married him and that she has never stopped loving him.

Could anyone, please, help me refresh my memory before I find time to re-read the book?  Thank you! 
