I tried to watch episode 07 and whether played indirectly from Vimeo through the Star Trek Continues website or directly from Vimeo itself, when switching the video quality it does nothing. A buddy tried it on his system and confirmed that no matter the setting, the quality is 360p. And, the 360p quality doesn't look that good.
Does anyone know why the episodes are no longer in 720p quality or higher?
I got 720p/1080p choices in Firefox for both sites. I downloaded all the episodes from youtube at 720p.
shareThe 720p/1080p choices are there through Vimeo and the homepage, but selecting either one didn't make any difference. It is particularly noticeable at the beginning when the shuttle passes by the camera. YouTube does have a 720p option available. Unfortunately, the bitrate at YouTube is about 1/3 that of the average Vimeo video (eg: 700 Kbps vs 1900 Kbps). The YouTube video has the correct frame size, but it's bit starved.
